ClearMark wasn’t built because I saw a business opportunity. It was built because I experienced the problem firsthand.
Like many people, I went through major life changes where I was overwhelmed by everything that needed to be done. During those moments, I didn’t know what I didn’t know.
When my wife and I installed solar on our home, we spent months planning the project — but it never occurred to me that we should contact our homeowner’s policy insurance agent. Looking back, that conversation was essential.
When I launched ClearMark, I discovered another blind spot. I was focused on building a business, but I wasn’t aware of the insurance protections a technology company should have. I wasn’t avoiding the conversation — I simply didn’t know I needed one.
Those experiences taught me something important.
People don’t ignore insurance because they don’t care. They often don’t realize a life or business change has created a new need.
Earlier in my career, I worked in account management and sales, where I learned that timing is everything. I spent hours researching clients to understand what was happening in their lives and businesses before every conversation. When I had that insight, I wasn’t guessing — I was helping. My conversations were more relevant, more valuable, and far more successful.
That’s when the idea for ClearMark came together.
What if insurance professionals automatically knew when something meaningful happened in a client’s life or business? What if they could reach out with guidance at exactly the right time?
That’s what ClearMark does.
We help insurance professionals identify meaningful life and business events so they can proactively protect the people they serve — not after something goes wrong, but when it matters most.
Because the best insurance conversations don’t start with a policy. They start with understanding what’s happening in someone’s life.
